About Chris:
Chris first got interested in radio at the age of 12 and it was while tweaking one of his early transistor radios that he came across a topband Sunday morning net. Once hooked he worked on his morse and passed the test aged 15, getting his licence just after his 16th birthday. He entered his first contest two weeks after getting his license.
Apart from the usual family and career interruptions Chris has been active on all bands from 160m to 70cm for over 40 years. Contesting, field days and LF DXing have remained constant pleasures. Nowadays he can usually be found on 160m & 80m CW contesting or chasing DX or pushing up his country score on 30m.
Qualified in electronics and telecommunications, Chris has worked in Europe and US for a variety of companies in the computer and defence industries with ten years at board level. For the past 11 years has been a consultant in the field of airborne reconnaissance and surveillance. During that time he completed a PhD looking at customer supplier relationships within oligopolies.
Chris is married to Jenny and they have two sons and a daughter – the eldest son being licensed as G7TAJ.
