About Gerard:
Gerard was introduced to amateur radio in 1965
First licensed in 1968.
He participated in the 20th French Expedition in Kerguelen Island (TAAF), staying more than one year in "Port au Francais" base, and operated with the callsign FB8XX from December 1969 to January 1971. Then in Heard Island VK0HM to assume radio communications during the Franco-Australien expedition (January to March 1971)
He was part of the CNRS in Geophysic (French national research center during 4 years 1972-1975) and moved to several countries (Chad, Ascension Isl ZD8JD, North-West Territories Canada VE8)
Then during 30 years for Thomson-CSF and Alcatel as a field engeener and project manager in microwaves networks.
Now, Gerard is very proud and excited to be a team member of this new major expedition.
